Feed Live Butterflies

The Winged Wonders Education Butterfly Lab inspires a connection to the natural world as a unique, interactive learning experience with live Monarch butterflies.

The Winged Wonders Education Butterfly Lab creates a learning environment with butterfly tent (indoor or outdoor set-up) with live butterflies (eggs, caterpillars, chrysalides if in season), nectar and host plants, and educational materials and lessons (i.e. non-fiction and fiction books, field guides, posters, magnifying lenses, life cycle coloring pages, nature journals). The Winged Wonders Education Butterfly Lab experience includes a mini-lesson introducing students to the care, feeding, and handling of live butterflies, netting techniques, and the monarch butterfly life cycle. Live butterfly releases and tagging workshops compliment the Winged Wonders Education Butterfly Lab.

HONORING THE INDIVIDUAL

"We could not have asked for a better first educational experience for our son than Friends' Central's Nursery and Pre-K classes. The teachers are kind and engaged, the environment is warm and supportive, and the children are truly known. We feel very lucky to be a part of this unique community."
